Slovenia's trade is orientated towards other EU countries, mainly Germany, Austria, Italy, and France. Slovenia's economy is highly dependent on foreign trade. About two-thirds of Slovenia's trade is with EU members.
The rate of internationalization of the Slovenian economy, measured by the average export and import share in GDP, is relatively high, as characteristic of small countries, and is increasing.
