Slovenia at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games

Slovenia has the largest Winter Olympic team in the history of Slovenia’s participation in the Olympics

The Olympic Games in South Korea will be attended by 71 Slovenian athletes: 52 men and 19 women. This is the largest winter Olympic team in the history of Slovenia’s participation at the Winter Olympic Games. Including the coaches, technicians, and medical personnel, the Slovenian team will consist of more than 160 members.

Slovenia will be represented in nine sports at the Games. These are Alpine skiing, biathlon, snowboarding, ice hockey, Nordic combined, freestyle skiing, ski jumping, cross-country skiing, and luge. The ice hockey team is the largest in number – there are 25 of them on the Olympic team, and Slovenia will have one representative in freestyle skiing and luge, respectively.

The second largest in number is the eleven-strong Alpine skiing team. Six male Alpine skiers and five female Alpine skiers will compete in Pyeongchang. The ski jumping team consists of nine members, five men and four women. There are also five male biathlon contestants and two female biathlon contestants, five male snowboarders and two female snowboarders in parallel disciplines and in freestyle, two male cross-country skiers and six female cross-country skiers, and two male competitors in Nordic combined.
