Taste Slovenia

The International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT) has confirmed Slovenia will become European Region of Gastronomy 2021. The official title will be awarded to Slovenia at a ceremony to be held on 8 October within the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities this year in Brussels, which will give Slovenia additional attention.

As a candidate for the title, Slovenia hosted a panel of IGCAT experts from 17-20 July. They checked the country's gastronomic offer, met with the representatives of 16 stakeholders who joined the project, and got acquainted with the book titled »Taste Slovenia« (edited by prof. dr Janez Bogataj) which Slovenia had to produce as part of the candidacy.
