The Information Commissioner

Information Commissioner is an autonomous and independent body, established on 31. December 2005 with the Information Commissioner Act (ZInfP), which supervises the protection of personal data and the access to public information.
The Commissioner is appointed by the National Assembly at the proposal of the President of the Republic.

On 25 June 1991 Slovenia became a state in its own right.
Soon Slovenia gained international recognition and established itself as a player on the world stage. After the independence the Government recognised EU membership as one of the country's priorities. Slovenia joined the European Union on 1st May 2004. Slovenia has one Commissioner in the European Commission, and eight Slovenian parliamentarians. Read more »
